About the Role

BB Bakery is looking for a friendly, hardworking and creative Bakery & Catering Sales Assistant to join our team at our Asofan bakery.

We have recently expanded our front-of-shop offering, selling fresh bread, drinks, rolls, baguettes and other products. We are looking for someone who can provide excellent customer service, help us increase sales and also support us to introduce more freshly prepared food and snack options.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working with customers, has good food preparation skills and is confident suggesting ideas that could help attract more customers and grow the business.

Main Responsibilities

The successful person will:

• Welcome customers warmly and provide excellent customer service.
• Sell bread, drinks, rolls, baguettes and other bakery products.
• Keep the shop attractive, clean, organised and well presented throughout the day.
• Help promote products and encourage customers to try different items.
• Prepare fresh food and snacks such as meat pies, shawarma, sandwiches and similar items.
• Help us develop and introduce new food products that customers may enjoy.
• Look for simple ways to attract more customers and increase daily sales.
• Monitor stock in the shop and let management know when products or supplies are running low.
• Handle customer payments carefully and accurately.
• Keep food preparation and serving areas clean and hygienic.
• Listen to customer feedback and share useful suggestions with management.
• Support other reasonable bakery and shop duties when required.

• Has experience in food preparation/catering, particularly making items such as meat pies, shawarma, sandwiches or similar foods.
• Has good customer service and communication skills.
• Is friendly, approachable and confident speaking with customers.
• Has a positive attitude towards selling and helping to grow the business.
• Is creative and willing to suggest new products and ideas.
• Is reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Can work independently and take initiative.
• Understands the importance of cleanliness and good food hygiene.
• Can work well as part of a team.

Previous experience working in a bakery, catering business, café, restaurant or food shop would be an advantage.

Working Hours

This is a full-time position. Working days and hours will be discussed with shortlisted candidates.
