Job Description


A Public Service institution is seeking a versatile, proactive and results-oriented person for the position below at its Head Office.

 

ASSISTANT MANAGER, LOANS

 

JOB TITLE               :           ASSISTANT MANAGER, LOANS

REPORTS TO          :           PRINCIPAL MANAGER, LOANS

SUPERVISES            :           NIL

JOB LOCATION      :           WA OFFICE

JOB PURPOSE         :           To provide operational support for the effective and efficient performance of the disbursement functions of the Fund.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES   

  1. Collection of data for the formulation of policies
  2. Implements programmes and activities of the Unit/Zones
  3. Processes Loan applications to eligible students for disbursement
  4. Implements guidelines for the disbursement of Loans
  5. Manage and supervise the administrative works at the zonal office
  6. Collection of school list from the schools on the loan scheme
  7. Review and approval of the loan applications
  8. Collates data for the development and update database on beneficiaries
  9. Participates in the conduct of orientation and sensitization for the growth of the loan portfolio
  10. Implements control mechanisms in the loan disbursement processes
  11. Collects data for the preparation of annual and other periodic reports of the Unit
  12. Collects data for the preparation of annual work plans and budget for the Unit
  13. Supervises and appraise the performance of subordinate staff

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Finance or any other related discipline from an accredited tertiary institution;
  • Must have completed National Service
  • Must pass a selection interview conducted by the Fund in collaboration with the Public Services Commission

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Technical and innovative skills;
  • High integrity and good ethical standards
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge in relevant IT applications.
  • Qualitative and quantitative analytical skills
