Asset Management Lead
ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT
To develop appropriate systems and governance processes that enable the Asset Management function in supporting and assurance of:
• AGA Asset management framework • Asset Management Strategy • Standards and guidelines • Systems ownership • Maturity improvements • Asset Integrity Assurance
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Model behaviour that is consistent with the AGA Safety Vision and Values, assisting in driving a culture where Safety is our first value, and providing support for incident/accident investigations where required.
- Develop appropriate systems and provide asset services and support in regard to:
- Implementing and monitoring against the AGA Asset management framework.
- Implementing and monitoring against the asset integrity guideline. o Maintain, review and update the system asset management strategy to ensure relevance, effectiveness and repeatability
- Long term planning for asset replacement and refurbishment forecasting within the integrated planning framework.
- Improving the capability and functionality of the asset management systems.
- Identify and facilitate training programs for the end users in asset management and asset integrity.
- Develop technical competency assessments for operational implementation and Training programs development for implmentation
- Own the TM1 Energy Reporting Module and assure compliance and accuracy of energy information.
- Review and provide assurance on ESG project requests as part of the energy business planning process.
- Maintaining systems for reporting to enable monthly, quarterly and annual business plan reviews in support of the integrated planning process.
- Assist and support operations identify, monitor and effectively communicate asset management measures and KPIs ensuring credible information is available to identify improvement opportunities that drive robust decision making
- Aligning asset management systems with both enterprise architecture planning and established strategic AGA systems e.g. TM1, Isometrix, ERP’s, reliability and incident reporting etc.
- Review, comment and providing updates to asset management group standards, policies, procedures and guidelines in collaboration with the central asset management team.
- Coordinating the roll out and adoption of asset management group standards, policies, procedures and guidelines being cognisant of unique and specific requirements imposed by the operating jurisdictions.
- Maintaining an updated repository of asset management group standards, policies, procedures and guidelines, easily accessible by site and regional teams.
- Proactively identifying emerging equipment reliability and cost performance trends whilst performing further analysis where required, to recommend a solution to problems.
- Implement and improve the reliability incident reporting system that enables communication of key learnings from incidents and investigations.
- Perform asset management maturity, asset integrity and compliance assessments and facilitating the development of asset management improvement plans
- Perform asset management project and operations reviews, ensuring the correct application of and compliance to AGA asset management standards, guidelines, systems and procedures
- Advising the Head of Asset Management and VP Technical on asset management related system issues and risks.
- Providing input in the integrated planning review sessions to ensure that due consideration has been given to address asset management risks and opportunities.
- Contribute productively as a member of the Asset Management team.
- Manage strict deadlines
- Engage and collaborate with engineering teams to suit the requirements of the company.
- In accordance with the Health of Discipline Framework, comply with the following requirements:
- In conjunction with the direct manager, establish key performance standards and critical tasks for the purpose of progress and performance assessments.
- In consultation with the VP Asset Management and Head of Asset Management compile an individual development plan for the purpose of career and succession planning.
- Clearly define role accountabilities and seek clarity in regard to effective people and management practices if there are any uncertainties.
- Personal conduct should be professional and aligned with the AGA values at all times.
QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
- At least 10 years’ engineering experience in the mining industry.
- Knowledge and experience in Asset Management
- Sound understanding of components and key drivers of the mining value chain.
- Demonstrated capacity to make sound short-term tactical decisions – quickly assembling and interpreting data to successfully action priorities
- Commercial acumen relevant to the role.
- Demonstrated track record in asset management and asset integrity
Technical Competencies
- Able to create a complete and well thought out asset management plan, using equipment and production data.
- Comprehensive understanding of work management systems that deliver effective planning, resourcing and execution of maintenance work.
- Develop continuous monitoring processes to systematically identify and eliminate chronic defects that lead to failures of major and critical equipment.
- Able to analyse and interpret condition monitoring data in order to identify early signs of failure, take preventative action and mitigate consequences.
- Understands the basic maintenance and reliability requirements of key assets and can identify when assets are performing below design performance.
- Able to establish a risk based asset integrity system that manages asset integrity threats and measure compliance to rectification plans.
- Collects and manages relevant data to a high standard of quality assurance and control.
- Uses relevant statistical analysis, technical models, systems and tools as part of the analytical process.
- Supports conclusions with accurate information and analysis
