Job Description
PURPOSE STATEMENT:
Assist the Financial Controller to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development and implementation of internal control policies and procedures.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Manage and supervise all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
· Assist in coordinating the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, track expenditures and report variances.
· Develop and monitor budget information; track expenditures and variances, and take corrective measures as needed
Data Capturing and verification
· Audit transactions to approve ledger entries
· Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
· Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions

Accounts Receivables
· Conduct systematic and random vetting of billing sheets and folders for both in-patients and outpatients to ensure they are billed appropriately.
Review monthly report on all collection, aging analysis and denials Accounts Payables
· Verify cheque amounts against invoices, track and control all cheque payments
· Receive and maintain all vendor invoices in the appropriate accounting software and ensure timely payment of same.
Reporting
· Prepare monthly profit and loss and balance sheet reports
· Support month-end and year-end close process
· Review monthly report and conduct reconciliation of all revenue generated and report variance to the financial controller
· Preparing weekly cash flow statements, and controlling expenditure and cash flow.
· Review and ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
· Prepare annual budget and undertake variance analysis
Requirements:
Education and Experience
· Advanced degree in Accounting plus a professional qualification in Accounting from a recognized professional Accounting body- ACCA, CIMA, ICA etc
· Proven working experience in a supervisory role
· 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
· Good knowledge of IAS/IFRS
Functional Skills and Knowledge
· Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
· Excellent accounting software user
· Experience with creating financial statements
· Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
· Ability to act with integrity
· Excellent Negotiating and communication Skills
· Advanced knowledge in accounting softwares
· Must possess excellent leadership skills
