Our client, a leading provider of commercial explosives and blasting systems to the mining and infrastructure markets and a global leader in the provision of ground support in mining and tunnelling is looking to hire a competent and proactive Supply Chain Specialist to help with their operations in West Africa

The position requires a dynamic and an experienced individual, who will deliver products in a safe, efficient and effective manner by employing professional supply chain processes within the West African Region.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Actively manage demand requirements in support of the capacity planning function, specifically administering the Distribution Requirement Planning (DRP) process for regional demand of bulk products.
  • Ensure stock accuracy and reconciliation with SAP, for all products at stock centres under distribution control, and is accounted for on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure Stock in Transit is monitored to an acceptable level at all times.
  •  Administration of the invoicing process for all regional freight providers, ensuring contractor invoices are checked and accurate before approving payment.
  •  Ensure process is used effectively to develop and communicate a rolling raw material delivery plan to ensure DIFOT (Delivered In Full and On Time), or if DIFOT isn’t possible, effective load prioritization as agreed between all stakeholders.
  • Provide local Systems, Applications and Products (SAP) “expertise”, and develop team accordingly.
  • Provide a pivotal link between distribution, manufacturing, transport operators and customers.
  • Contribute to the effective introduction and development of new supply chain systems.
  • Effectively capture and communicate delivery and manufacturing data to key stakeholders as required.


  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or relevant discipline


  • Minimum experience of 5-10 years’ experience playing similar role.
  • Experience in a global, multi-cultural business is beneficial.
