RESTAURANT HIRING

  • Restaurant MANAGER – 1 position (re-advertisement)
  • Chef – 1 position

RESPONSIBILITIES OF MANAGER

We are into producing healthy meals both local, continental and Chinese. Our restaurant, which has taken off with great potential, requires the services of a manager to perform the following duties. The Applicant must be a real professional who understands the restaurant business and can lead and manage the business in the absence of the CEO.

  • Provide leadership to the staff to ensure professional, collegial and happy work environment.

 

  • Supervise Chefs, Waiters and other staff.
  • Perform stock management- Ensuring adequate supply and recording requisitions.
  • Manage food cost and prices to reflect food quality and market prices.
  • Provide oversight of sales and produce reports to the CEO.
  • Liaise with vendors to procure the best quality stock items at the best prices.
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing, hygiene and health and safety regulations.
  • Promoting and marketing the business by leading business marketing efforts with group clients.
  • Handling customer enquiries and complaints.
  • Setting targets and preparing action plans to achieve them.
  • Producing staff rotas.
  • Make proposals to improve market share of the business.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCES

  • Minimum HND hotel and catering. A degree will be an advantage.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in similar job roles
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to think on her / his feet and provide solutions to problems.
  • Commercial awareness
  • Flexibility –should have a flexible work schedule in line with demands of the job.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Teamwork skills – must be able to solve problems

NB/Possession of Driver’s Licence an advantage.

  1. CHEF RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure that food is cooked to the right taste and health standards.
  • Check freshness of food and ingredients
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and other food preparation workers
  • Develop recipes and determine how to present the food
  • Coordinate with Manager on the preparation of the best menu.
  • Ensure uniform serving sizes and quality of meals
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality
  • Train and supervise cooks and other food preparation workers
  • Order and maintain inventory of food and supplies
  • Monitor sanitation practices and follow kitchen safety standards.

Professional Qualification has advantage.
