  • Job Title :  Insurance Processing Officer – Education and Health
  • Responsible to:    Insurance Manager

The primary function of the Insurance Processing Officer is to ensure a timely and accurate capturing of all insurance applications originated by Sales Officers from the Branches and perform other duties as required

Duties and Key Results Areas:

  • Prepare source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information; establishing entry priorities.
  • Processes customer and account source documents by reviewing data for deficiencies; resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the team leader for resolution.
  • Enters customer and account data by inputting alphabetic and numeric information on keyboard or optical scanner according to screen format.
  • Verify entered customer and account data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or re-entering data; combining data from systems (Novasure and Mambu) when account information is incomplete.
  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
  • Maintains customer and business confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintain logs of activities and completed work
  • Store completed documents in appropriate locations

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that all policy documents are complete, accurate, verified and in compliance with Bayport credit policy.
  • A copy of the e-check/ Hudson Price is attached detailing the customer’s verified details.
  • A copy of the e-payslip is attached if used for the affordability calculations.
  • Ensure that the completed insurance documents are correctly filed for Audit Purposes.

Required Skills or Experience

  • HND its Equivalents or above
  • Have a good level of numeracy
  • Fluent in English language and local languages used in the area of business of the branch
  • Experience in a Banking/retail/Insurance
  • An understanding of the Insurance and Financial Services Industry is an advantage
