Our client, a global health organization with the aim of improving the health of people in developing countries is looking for a well-organized and a proactive Field Research Assistant to help with their operations in Ghana.

ROLE PROFILE

The successful candidate will collect, edit and coordinate research data in support of a specified research study. He/She will arrange and conduct field interviews as appropriate to the study, and record research data in accordance with specified protocol and procedures.

Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Travel to field sites to collect and record data and/or samples as appropriate to the specific objectives of the study.
  • Collate relevant documentation from identified stakeholder’s online platforms
  • Identify and compile lists of potential research participants in accordance with study objectives and parameters, as appropriate to the individual position.
  • Conduct and record face-to-face and/or telephone interviews with participants in accordance with predetermined interview protocol, data collection procedures, and documentation standards.
  • Gathering hard copies of official working tools, Standard Operating Procedures(SOPs), Manuals, newsletters, annual reports etc. from stakeholders.
  • Review and edit data to ensure complete and accuracy of information; follow up with participants to resolve problems or clarify data collected.
  • Other data gathering related role that may be required from the research manager

Education/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the position
  • At least two years’ experience in an NGO
  • Experience working for a multinational organization is preferred.
  • Experience in regular report writing.

Requirement

  • Good communication skills including ability to gain trust and build relationships with communities.
  • High standard of spoken and written Akan and English, ability to translate desirable
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and excel
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently.
  • Flexible and able to work in a dynamic and diverse environment.
  • Interviewing and data collection skills.
  • Able to understand and apply specified field and/or laboratory research procedures and protocols.
  • Skilled in the use of computer spreadsheet and/or database applications in the compilation of research data.
  • Able to evaluate, verify, and edit research data.
