Reports to: Factory  Manager

(to whom the person directly reports)

Job Purpose:

To monitor or observe operations to ensure that they meet production standards. Recommend adjustments to the process or assembly. Inspect, test, or measure materials or products being produced.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting a visual and measurement test, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials
  • Approve in-process production by confirming required specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating the required adjustments to the production supervisor
  • Approve all finished products by confirming specifications and conducting required tests
  • Return products for re-work if needed and complete documentation to confirm re-work
  • Document and update inspection results by completing reports and logs
  • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calling for repairs.
  • Maintain safe work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
  • Coach and mentor junior employees; seek opportunities to grow leadership in others
  • Assist in managing the development and implementation of the QMS for planning, fabrication, inspection, documentation, and operations activities including; taking responsibility for hold-point releases once all QMS functions have been completed and the equipment is ready to go into the next work stage.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical publications, attending seminars, watching industry videos, etc.
  • Accomplish organization mission by completing related results as needed

Qualification, Skills, Knowledge, Experience

  • B.S. degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering
  • 4+ years of industry experience with at least 2 years of QA QC experience
  • Work authorization. security clearance
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain and teach methodologies
  • Understanding of manufacturing methods and procedures

Occupational Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Management System:

The important QHSE issues on which you will be assessed are:

  • Ensuring that all staff and contractors are adequately informed of and understand their duties with regards to safety, health and environmental policies.
  • Assist in building a safety culture within the organisation.
  • Participate in incident investigations and employee induction trainings.
  • Responsible for administration of first aid.
  • Report any unsafe acts and occurrences to the HSE officer.
  • Ensure quality delivery of information by conduct at all times.
  • Support management’s waste management process.
