Diageo Plc is quoted in the New York and London Stock Exchanges while Guinness Ghana Breweries Ltd (the subsidiary) is quoted on the Ghana Stock Exchange.PURPOSETo lead the design, planning and implementation of the vision of Guinness Ghana Breweries Ltd. (GGBL) to profitably grow its mainstream spirits business both locally in Ghana and in West Africa.The Mainstream Spirits Director will work with team members across different functions and from other geographies to lead and motivate others towards implementation of the mainstream spirits vision and the supporting mechanics to deliver business results.This commercial role requires functional expertise, prior experience in commercial, sales, route to market and/or mainstream spirits business development / management, and high leadership standards. This is a hands-on position that has a key leadership role to deliver the overall mainstream spirits ambition for the market.Qualification And Experience Required

  • Graduate caliber with at least 10 years’ experience in marketing / commercial / sales
  • Strong experience and knowledge of commercial, sales, marketing and/or mainstream spirits industry (e.g., products, pricing, players, sales drivers) in Ghana and across Africa (particularly West Africa)
  • Strong commercial acumen and proven ability to generate insights from data sources and deliver exceptional business results
  • At least 5 years’ experience in senior commercial, sales and/or marketing roles.
  • People management experience
  • Computer literate
  • Must be an excellent communicator.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Shape and translate GGBL’s 5 year mainstream spirit ambition into executable plans by coordinating with various stakeholders and functions
  • Implement growth plans for GGBL’s mainstream spirits agenda including the delivering of F17 and beyond Annual Operating Plan (AOP) objectives for Mainstream spirits, lead roles in expanding sales for current brands and also leading the launch of new brands and product categories.
  • Lead efforts to enable GGBL to export mainstream spirits to other countries in West Africa (excluding. Nigeria)
  • Support efforts to establish local production of various brands and product categories to grow GGBL’s mainstream spirits including local sourcing and partnership with third parties for production
  • Define and implement the models for trade partnerships – Distributors, Wholesalers, Retailers, on and off trade channels etc including trade terms and sales force execution standards that will enable effective value chain to ensure effective route to consumer for GGBL’s mainstream spirits
  • Lead and manage people for success to ensure mainstream spirits capability and experience is embedded in GGBL
