Role Summary/Purpose

The Project Coordinator is an integral member of the project team responsible for delivering building development projects of varying size and complexity. The Project Co-ordinator will be responsible for directing, organizing and controlling project activities under the OCTP project in Ghana with the direction of a Project Manager and Service Leader.

Essential Responsibilities

• Lead all localization and capacity development efforts for the OCTP Project

• Frequently report activities and operation expenditures to client and in-country petroleum regulators to ensure transparency and compliance.

• Assist PM in the drafting and issuance of project proposals, RFP’s, budgets, cash flows

• Prepare project organization and communication charts

• Track the progress and quality of work being performed by design disciplines/trades

• Use project scheduling and control tools to monitor projects plans, work hours, budgets and expenditures

• Integrate, coordinate & collaborate with GE teams (products and services) to drive timely service offerings and orders to client

• Coordinate all training programs for FSEs trainees and assisting in onboarding of new hires

• Pro-actively identify opportunities to execute projects cost effectively and on GE standards.

• Issue Contracts, Letters of Intent, Purchase Orders, etc.

• Assist PM in reviewing subcontractor quotations to ensure that only fair and reasonable pricing is recommended for approval.

• Track and manage contemplated change notices and change orders in the database.

• Prepare substantial completion certificates and ensure all required project close out documents are obtained

• Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude, and for developing this attitude in others.

• Stakeholder Management: Keep the Project Manager and others informed about project status and issues that may impact client relations

• Manage all indigenous suppliers/vendors from onboarding to execution of awarded contracts

Qualifications/Requirements

• Degree or Diploma from accredited higher education institute

• 2-5 years of experience supporting Project Managers in the delivery of development projects

• Strong analytical skills with Information Management.

• Proficient in MS Project and the MS Office Suite of products

• Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation.

• Proven ability to work effectively in a team based environment

• Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities

• Ability to resolve complex issues to develop and execute multiple priorities to meet objectives.

• Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills

• Experience in the Oil and Gas industry

• Experience in Lean/six sigma

• Flexible attitude to working patterns

• Willingness and ability to travel

• Local candidates preferred

• Must have valid authorization to work full-time without any restriction in Ghana

Desired Characteristics

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business is preferred

· Familiar with Primavera scheduling software

· Prior experience with engineering, procurement and manufacturing schedule systems is preferred

· Ability to work in a cross-functional matrix environment

· Strong problem solving, negotiating, and conflict resolution skills

· Ability to work independently or as part of a team within a dynamic environment

· Ability to organize, prioritize, and achieve milestones and deliverables

· Sound judgment with the ability to think on your feet

· Six Sigma training is preferred (GE employees only)

· Strong oral and written communication skills

· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
