Role Summary/Purpose

The Anglophone Sales Director, Gas Power Systems will provide leadership to a team of Sales Managers for all English speaking countries across Sub Sahara Africa.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Own the strategy development and execution process for Gas Power Systems product portfolio (HDGT, Aero Derivative, Long term service agreements and Balance of plant)
  • Accountable for aggressively leading sales growth and achieving all quarterly and annual financial targets across the region. Financial targets includes : Orders , Revenue , margins
  • Own focused campaigns based on broader market opportunities, drive overall profitable growth strategy (quarter, year), and contribute into definition and introduction strategy for new offerings
  • Partner with the Strategic Accounts Leaders to drive customer engagement
  • Align with Sales leaders in other businesses to ensure proper representation of the GE store to customers and other relevant stakeholders (developers, EPC contractors)
  • Consistent stakeholder engagement to ensure efficient and effective communication between all internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead with absolute integrity and full adherence to the Company’s compliance policies and procedures
  • Manage a team of high performing Sales Managers – recruit, develop, train and lead the team,


  • Strong C Level relationships with Energy sector customers and partners in SSA
  • Engineering or business degree from an accredited university
  • 10+ years leadership experience in Marketing, Sales or Commercial Operations within the energy services industry,
  • 5+ years direct leadership experience
  • Fluent in written & spoken English
  • Ability to influence cross-functional business teams to embrace and drive sales strategy and growth in the region
  • Strong and proven track record of sale and sales leadership results
  • Proven successes in managing complex sales projects and implement appropriate partnerships with a vast spread of stakeholders, both within and outside the region.
  • Deep knowledge of global and regional market economics and competitive issues, project development and financing
  • Success in developing influential customer relationships; viewed as a trusted advisor
  • Passion for customer success: demonstrated collaboration skills with track record of co-creation of new customer-oriented solutions to meet customer needs
  • Recognized as a strategist in outcome level selling: understands customer business models and leverages GE solutions to create customer competitive advantage
  • Strong executive presence with outstanding formal presentation, negotiation and interpersonal communications skills
