Purpose of job :

This post is responsible for the overall management of service delivery and business development in our Examinations Services operation in Ghana as well as budget management and oversight of operational activity in the supported Exams operations of Senegal and Sierra Leone. Principal areas of responsibility include financial management, marketing and promotion, people management, compliance with quality and security standards and Examinations Services customer service.

Challenges of the job include :

Fully implementing and maintaining Quality and Compliance Assessment standards for Confidential Material management Energising the business and exceeding income and surplus targets, especially in new areas such as Aptis (British Council English language test) as well as developing the business in existing areas such as Professional, Schools and IELTS. Growing computer-based testing operations Delivering customer service excellence and improving the overall customer experience Exploring opportunities for efficiencies and compliance assurance in Cross Border Collaboration.

Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties :

Accountabilities :
•Accountable for delivering country targets and developing an ambitious but achievable, sustainable business growth plan for Ghana.
•Exams security, quality and compliance standards must reach/exceed regional targets in Ghana and supported operations.

Responsibilities:

•Conduct quarterly self-assessments and Action planning for the Quality and Compliance Assessment within the stipulated deadlines and monitor implementation progress. Paper security and quality systems in place and action plans developed and actioned.
•Existing, known risks managed effectively.
•Financial plans achieved through delivery of exams and control of costs. Use Management information, analysis and personal operating experience to identify and make recommendations on improvements to ways of working, processes, procedures and/or resources that will enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
•New business developed over the year so that a solid 2016 plan will be put into place
•The team should be supported, developed and held accountable. Identifies the team requirements and recommends training and development provision to build improved operational capability within the team
•All financial and reporting deadlines met
•Work effectively with the Country Director and broader exams team to achieve integration and a seamless service delivery for our clients and partners.

Main duties :

•Manages monitors and reports on income and expenditure against target and take remedial action to ensure targets are met/exceeded.
•Develop new business leads and opportunities and work with the regional team to turn these into new business.
•Manage and motivate the team to achieve challenging objectives.
•Meet regularly with the country exams team and communicate effectively with them and the Country Director, the Finance and Resources team and the exams regional teams.
•Conduct regular meetings with clients to monitor and improve customer service delivery
•Work closely with the Regional Exams Manager SSA to ensure financial targets and reporting meet standards.
•Work closely with Regional Exams Manager Quality and Compliance to ensure paper security is tight and issues are handled/avoided and quality reaches required standards.
•Work with the customer service and marketing regional teams to ensure compliance and seek support as required.
•Liaise regularly with supplier schools, tuition colleges, etc…
•Liaise regularly with exam boards, seeking feedback and business development.
•Attend regional meetings as required – business review, training, etc.
•Business planning – financial worksheet and marketing action plan.
•Oversight and management of security.
•Crisis management.

Special requirements for the job
Some evening and weekend work is required

Skills and Qualifications
Previous experience in management
University degree from a recognised University
