Job Description

World Vision International is a Christian Relief, Development and Advocacy organization dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.

Job Summary

To mobilize, catalyze and broker local level partner engagements focusing on civil society organisations, community based organisations, churches, district/area council/community local government and private organisations/businesses. In addition, the position is required to facilitate partner capacity building and support programmatic implementation.

The Package

  • The positions will be based in any of the following locations: Krachi, Nkwanta, Ga West, Mpohor Wassa, Ashanti, Kintampo, Sekyere East, Saboba, Gushiegu, Talensi, Bawku and Savelugu.
  • S/He reports to the Cluster Programmes Manager & Partnering and Institutional Capacity Building Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

Include but not limited to the following;

  • Facilitate and provide technical backstopping and guidance to programmes staff (Project Officers, Cluster Managers) on several partnership issues.
  • Coach, mentor and build WV staff and partners capacity with skills and knowledge to facilitate the growth and development of strong partnerships.
  • Ensure capacity building, compliance and effective utilization of the tools, models, guidelines developed to facilitate effective relationship building, strengthening and management.
  • In consultation with the Partnering and Capacity Building Specialist, facilitate staff capacity building to improve on the knowledge and skill levels of staff in the areas of partnering, networking, collaboration and sub granting.
  • Liaise with Operations and Finance to develop and ensure sub grant processes adhere to World Vision standards and are effectively implemented.
  • In consultation with the Partnering and Capacity Building Specialist, ensure the organizational and technical capacities of partners are enhanced.
  • Organize and facilitate forums to enhance the sharing and learning of best practices within World Vision Ghana and amongst partners through forums like partner review meetings.
  • Support direct implementation of programmatic activities at cluster and Programme level.
  • Attend and participate in the different activities and events organized by World Vision Ghana at the cluster, regional and national levels as may be required.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Development studies, social science, NGO management or any other related field
  • Post Graduate training in capacity building, Institutional Development, networking and monitoring & evaluation will be an added advantage.
  • Preferably a minimum of 3 years working experience in an NGO sector (Directly facilitating capacity building  and partnerships at a field level)

  • Effective communication (written and oral) skills
  • Ability to work and contribute to team building environment especially in a matrix reporting system
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to exhibit a culture of responsiveness and initiative
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload
  • Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
