Job Description

World Vision Ghana (WVG) is looking for a highly qualified, proactive, motivated and resourceful person to fill the position of Knowledge Management Officer.

Job Summary

To lead and coordinate Knowledge Management in the National Office in order to enhance Organizational Learning, Innovation, Documentation of Best Practices and Change at all levels towards more effective operations.

The Package

  • The position is based in Accra.
  • S/He reports to the Programme Effectiveness and Knowledge Management Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead in the World Vision (WV) Ghana intranet site management and maintenance on WV central platform.
  • Monitor and share information illustrating the organization’s progress in achieving its strategic objectives.
  • Ensure that the maximum amount of useful information is extracted from WV central and shared with staff through the use of appropriate reporting tools.
  • Share experiences across communities of practice on innovative approaches in knowledge sharing.
  • Support Area Programs (APs) and Special Projects to document their successes and best practices into appropriate knowledge assets.
  • Maintain and manage a database that capture lessons learned, best practices ensuring standardized methodologies and alignment with WV International Knowledge Management systems and processes.
  • Ensure staff are aware of the knowledge management resources available to support their work and are using the systems efficiently and productively to share knowledge.
  • Support the establishment of World Vision Ghana soft and hard library.
  • Facilitate the development of proper filing systems, and maintain these to meet WVI Knowledge Management standards.
  • Advise on and implement new records management policies and classification systems.
  • Provide technical support for managing any changeover from paper to electronic records management systems.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies, Information Studies or any related field.
  • Professional technical skill desired Certificate in Information Systems and Knowledge Management
  • 3 years of practical experience in Publishing and Information Systems Management, report writing and publications field.
  • Computer skills and database management skills
  • Document review and report writing skills are preferred.
