ROLE PURPOSE
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the holder will head the brands and Media team and be responsible for developing annual brand marketing (including Media) plans with the objective of building the brand and achieving set brand equity scores.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing Management

  • Work with Chief Commercial Officer to develop annual brand building and media plans

Defines and manages advertising and media buying budget;

  • Manage Annual Advertising and Promotion budget effectively (return on investment), ensuring spend stays within Annual budget;
  • Leads brands teams to execute planned campaigns as per the marketing roadmap;
  • Builds and Manages an Annual Media Plan;
  • Performs all managerial HR tasks in accordance with Tigo People Policies.

 

Brand Building

  • Works with the Chief Commercial Officer and owns responsibility for the development of all Tigo brand communication assets and KPIs;
  • Regularly monitoring of brand tracker scores, and setting action plans to set targets an     KPIs;
  • Ensuring all assets from agency are aligned to Tigo brand design & equity objectives;
  • Works to ensure Products and Brands team work together to develop annual plans for the respective categories;
  • Works to ensure synergy between Brands and corporate communications team to ensure single message communication across platforms;
  • Responsible for the management of creative agencies and Media Agencies;
  • Analyst product/service performance and prepare market feedback report.

 

Media Management

  • Work with consumer insights, Media Team, Brands team and regional marketing team to  develop annual media plans and KPIs;
  • Supervises and agrees all media buying contract negotiations;
  • Regularly monitoring of media plans and media compliance scores to ensur achievement of media KPIs;
  • Continuous analysis of media landscape and competitors media activities for feedback to marketing team;

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • University degree in Administration, Economics, Marketing or Social Sciences;
  • Master’s degree will be a plus;
  • 5+ years relevant post National Service working experience in Telecoms/FMCG;
  • Prior experience in project management
  • 5+ years’ experience in senior brand management or Marketing Management

  • Willingness to travel to ensure smooth take-off of all marketing activities across the country;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
