Purpose of Job:

  • To be in charge of the financial and administrative management of the organisation.

Main Tasks:

The Finance Manager will, among others, undertake the following tasks:

  1. Managing financial resources:
    1. Enforce expenditure commitment policy of the organization
    2. Supervise and take responsibility of all processing of payment requests,
    3. Cash flow management
    4. Financial and management Accounting of the Organisation
    5. Support, under the supervision of the Executive Director, the preparation and monitoring of the overall annual budgets as well as budgets of specific projects
    6. Support, under the supervision of the Executive Director, the preparation of grant requests to donors
    7. Take full responsibility of financial reporting to donors
    8. Support, under the supervision of the Executive Director, the preparation of financial documents to the Main Donors and Board of Directors
    9. Ensure effective financial operation of all finance and administrative staff both at the Tamale and Ho offices
  1. Implement administrative and operational framework in compliant with Ghana laws as well as donor regulations
    1.  Support and supervise compliance with all relevant legal obligations of Ghana
    2. Assist the Executive Director in drawing partnership agreements,
    3. Manage contractual documents
    4. Ensure adequate insurance coverage of all official vehicles and properties
  1. Administrative management of Human resources :
    1. Support management of staff recruitment and contracts
    2. Payment of salary, monitoring of leave period and maternity issues in compliance with Ghana labour laws
  1. Ensuring logistics management :
    1. Manage  procurement in line with procurement policy and contractual relation with suppliers
    2. Create supplier and consultants pool

Required Skills or Experience

1.         KNOWLEDGE

Essential requirements

  • A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in accounting, financial management. A master degree in accounting, business management and administration, finance, economics, an added advantage. A member or part qualified of ICA Ghana, ACCA, CIMA etc.
  • At least 5-10 years’ experience of administrative and financial management
  • Financial management, human resource management and accounting experience
  • Experience in managing organisations different grants from different donors (both public donors and private foundation) and in multiple currency transactions
  • Ability to effectively work in English with excellent spoken and written skills

Desirable requirements

Knowledge on accounting software’s i.e QuickBooks, MYOB, Tally among others

2.         SKILLS / ABILITIES

Essential requirements

  • Ability to elaborate annual budgets and monitor its implementation
  • Ability to establish expense processing procedures that comply with donor requirements
  • Ability to work with relevant accounting software

Personal skills

  • Autonomy, discipline, adaptability,
  • A strong sense of diplomacy, sociability and interpersonal communication

Organisational skills

  • Ability to work within a small, multi-cultural team.

3.         EXPERIENCE

Essential

The candidate should have at least 5 years of experience of work in a similar position.
