Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial advice to the Executive Director,  and provide technical support to Member Institutions and senior managers  to enable them make sound business decisions
  • Review financial policies and procedure, design effective financial management system and recommend appropriate improvement strategies for implementation.
  • Provide and interpret financial management information and predict future trends for management decision.
  • Present inputs to management for the preparation of long term plans and annual budgets.
  • Produce reliable, accurate and relevant financial reports to meet specific deadlines.
  • Responsible for Annual Financial audit

Required Skills or Experience

Persons Specifications/Competencies:

  1. Academic/Professional
    1. Masters in Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
    2. Final professional certificate in Finance / Accounting (ACCA, ICA, IFA, CIMA)
    3. At least ten (10) years relevant working experience; five of which should be in a senior management role.
  2. Technical Competencies
    1. Knowledge of relevant financial regulations (Financial Administration, company code, etc.) and accounting standards.
    2. Good working knowledge of Public and Christian Health Systems.
    3. Ability to assess both manual and electronic operations of the organization and evaluate them critically.
  3. Personality Competencies
    1. Demonstrate good communication and writing ability.
    2. Strong attention to detail and analytical approach to work.
    3. Ability to relate effectively to people, listen to contrary views and deal with conflicts productively.
    4. Must be discreet and demonstrate understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
  4. Managerial Competencies:
    1. Ability to plan, organize followers and execute plans effectively to achieve desired results.
    2. Ability to work as part of a team and to build strong working relationships.
    3. Ability to make quick but rational decisions and follow ups on activities initiated effectively and promptly.
