As a graduate in Geological Engineering from Nairobi University, I am looking forward in applying my technical skills to the ongoing exploration project at Peonagon Exploration Inc.

Having been part of a geological project at Newmont International as a Geologists in their Olubee Exploration field, I have developed vast technical experience especially in geological data mapping and field data analysis.

Attached to my skills is my ability to use software programs such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Mapinfo/Discover and the MS Office 365. As a team member, I enjoy working with other related technical staff but I am also confident in working on sole projects and assuming task autonomously. Challenges are part my job description but I have a strong problem solving and analytic skills.

Most of all, I possess a strong communication and interpersonal skills along with my ability to respect the job ethics of any company

Job Description of a Geological Engineer

Geological Engineering combines the field of Geology and Engineering and emphasizes on how human beings can put the earth to a better use. Geological Engineers for instance studies and analyses the field where road or dam might be built. Another important monitoring ability of Geological Engineers is in the field for earthquake and volcanoes detection. As a Geological Engineer, one important application subject area is the field of geosciences. As broad as Geological Engineering can be, it has been divided into two main parts

Geotechnical Engineering – which deals in environmental effects on rocks, projects and soil in terms of stability.

Hydrogeology engineering which deals in pits and groundwater experiments. Geological Engineers also work on extraction and development of fossil fuel deposits

To become a Geological Engineer, one must be very good in Physics and Mathematics. A graduate program leading to a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering or related field Geosciences, Geography, Geophysics, and Civil Engineering are relevant. This field exposes the Engineer with a broad background in science and engineering.

Today employers are interested in Geological Engineers who are analytical with good communication and team work spirit. It also important to be up-to-date with Information Technology and utilize geological software to the maximum.
